DESCRIPTION:“Listen\, O coastlands\, to Me\,\nAnd take heed\, you peoples from afar!\nThe Lord has called Me from the womb;\nFrom the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.\n2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword;\nIn the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me\,\nAnd made Me a polished shaft;\nIn His quiver He has hidden Me.” \n\n\n3 “And He said to me\,\n‘You are My servant\, O Israel\,\nIn whom I will be glorified.’\n4 Then I said\, ‘I have labored in vain\,\nI have spent my strength for nothing and in vain;\nYet surely my just reward is with the Lord\,\nAnd my work with my God.’” \n\n\n5 “And now the Lord says\,\nWho formed Me from the womb to be His Servant\,\nTo bring Jacob back to Him\,\nSo that Israel is gathered to Him[a]\n(For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the Lord\,\nAnd My God shall be My strength)\,\n6 Indeed He says\,\n‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant\nTo raise up the tribes of Jacob\,\nAnd to restore the preserved ones of Israel;\nI will also give You as a light to the Gentiles\,\nThat You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’” \n\n\n7 Thus says the Lord\,\nThe Redeemer of Israel\, their Holy One\,\nTo Him whom man despises\,\nTo Him whom the nation abhors\,\nTo the Servant of rulers:\n“Kings shall see and arise\,\nPrinces also shall worship\,\nBecause of the Lord who is faithful\,\nThe Holy One of Israel;\nAnd He has chosen You.” \n\n8 Thus says the Lord: \n\n“In an acceptable time I have heard You\,\nAnd in the day of salvation I have helped You;\nI will preserve You and give You\nAs a covenant to the people\,\nTo restore the earth\,\nTo cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;\n9 That You may say to the prisoners\, ‘Go forth\,’\nTo those who are in darkness\, ‘Show yourselves.’ \n\n\n“They shall feed along the roads\,\nAnd their pastures shall be on all desolate heights.\n10 They shall neither hunger nor thirst\,\nNeither heat nor sun shall strike them;\nFor He who has mercy on them will lead them\,\nEven by the springs of water He will guide them.\n11 I will make each of My mountains a road\,\nAnd My highways shall be elevated.\n12 Surely these shall come from afar;\nLook! Those from the north and the west\,\nAnd these from the land of Sinim.” \n\n\n13 Sing\, O heavens!\nBe joyful\, O earth!\nAnd break out in singing\, O mountains!\nFor the Lord has comforted His people\,\nAnd will have mercy on His afflicted. \n\nGod Will Remember Zion\n\n14 But Zion said\, “The Lord has forsaken me\,\nAnd my Lord has forgotten me.”\n15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child\,\nAnd not have compassion on the son of her womb?\nSurely they may forget\,\nYet I will not forget you.\n16 See\, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;\nYour walls are continually before Me.
