DESCRIPTION:8 The grass withers\, the flower fades\,\nBut the word of our God stands forever.” \n\n\n9 O Zion\,\nYou who bring good tidings\,\nGet up into the high mountain;\nO Jerusalem\,\nYou who bring good tidings\,\nLift up your voice with strength\,\nLift it up\, be not afraid;\nSay to the cities of Judah\, “Behold your God!” \n\n\n10 Behold\, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand\,\nAnd His arm shall rule for Him;\nBehold\, His reward is with Him\,\nAnd His work before Him.\n11 He will feed His flock like a shepherd;\nHe will gather the lambs with His arm\,\nAnd carry them in His bosom\,\nAnd gently lead those who are with young. \n\n\n12 Who has measured the waters[a] in the hollow of His hand\,\nMeasured heaven with a span\nAnd calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?\nWeighed the mountains in scales\nAnd the hills in a balance?\n13 Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord\,\nOr as His counselor has taught Him?\n14 With whom did He take counsel\, and who instructed Him\,\nAnd taught Him in the path of justice?\nWho taught Him knowledge\,\nAnd showed Him the way of understanding? \n\n\n15 Behold\, the nations are as a drop in a bucket\,\nAnd are counted as the small dust on the scales;\nLook\, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing.\n16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn\,\nNor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering.\n17 All nations before Him are as nothing\,\nAnd they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless. \n\n\n18 To whom then will you liken God?\nOr what likeness will you compare to Him?\n19 The workman molds an image\,\nThe goldsmith overspreads it with gold\,\nAnd the silversmith casts silver chains.\n20 Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution\nChooses a tree that will not rot;\nHe seeks for himself a skillful workman\nTo prepare a carved image that will not totter. \n\n\n21 Have you not known?\nHave you not heard?\nHas it not been told you from the beginning?\nHave you not understood from the foundations of the earth?\n22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth\,\nAnd its inhabitants are like grasshoppers\,\nWho stretches out the heavens like a curtain\,\nAnd spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.\n23 He brings the princes to nothing;\nHe makes the judges of the earth useless. \n\n\n24 Scarcely shall they be planted\,\nScarcely shall they be sown\,\nScarcely shall their stock take root in the earth\,\nWhen He will also blow on them\,\nAnd they will wither\,\nAnd the whirlwind will take them away like stubble. \n\n\n25 “To whom then will you liken Me\,\nOr to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.\n26 Lift up your eyes on high\,\nAnd see who has created these things\,\nWho brings out their host by number;\nHe calls them all by name\,\nBy the greatness of His might\nAnd the strength of His power;\nNot one is missing. \n\n\n27 Why do you say\, O Jacob\,\nAnd speak\, O Israel:\n“My way is hidden from the Lord\,\nAnd my just claim is passed over by my God”?\n28 Have you not known?\nHave you not heard?\nThe everlasting God\, the Lord\,\nThe Creator of the ends of the earth\,\nNeither faints nor is weary.\nHis understanding is unsearchable.\n29 He gives power to the weak\,\nAnd to those who have no might He increases strength.\n30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary\,\nAnd the young men shall utterly fall\,\n31 But those who wait on the Lord\nShall renew their strength;\nThey shall mount up with wings like eagles\,\nThey shall run and not be weary\,\nThey shall walk and not faint.
